LONG GONE LONESOME COWGIRLS, a play by Philip Dean, and featuring the music of Hank Williams, Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash was staged for three nights from November 8th - 10th, 2001 at Fox Studios, Sydney.

This was the first and only production to be granted the right to perform in the Lights Camera Chaos theatre at Fox Studios, prior to the theatre being removed. LONG GONE LONESOME COWGIRLS is set in a small country town in south-western Queensland in the 1960's, and follows the unlikely friendship of Vicki and Rae, two girls from very different backgrounds who are brought together by circumstance, and end up living under the same roof. Over the span of three years, the play follows their loves, heartbreaks, divorces, births - and above all, their remarkable friendship based on their consuming love of country music.

The production was directed by John Maher, the Musical Director of the Australian productions of Rent, Rocky Horror Show Return To The Forbidden Planet and Oh What A Night! It featured the incredible talents of young, multi-skilled performers Letitia Davy (Vicki) and Katie Newman (Rae).
